Career Coach for Professionals

Getting Focused: Combining who you are with what you want.

Not all of us knew exactly what we wanted to be when we graduated from high school or college. For many of us our careers have been a series of hits and misses. There is nothing wrong with that; however it can lead to lack of career satisfaction and meaningfulness in our work lives. Once our careers start, rarely do we take a step back to assess where we have been and where we want to go. If you want to change that pattern then our career coaching services may be for you.
We will partner with you to review your work history, education, strengths, accomplishments, problem areas, skills, values, motivations and goals. Additionally we will administer career testing to objectively assess your personality type and career interests. Once we have a clear picture of where you have been we will begin to assess where you want to be. The next step is to identify, explore, research and clarify career possibilities based on the information we have gathered to date. You will be expected to complete assignments in between our career coaching sessions.
Once you have a clear vision of your career direction we will work with you to create a career roadmap, personalized just for you. This will be your guide now and in the future as you navigate your future career moves as well.

Who are you? Career/Self Assessment
Uncovering who you are is key to helping you find the right career path. Through a series of testing and career assessment exercises we explore who you are (strengths, skills, interests, personality preferences), where you have been (key accomplishments) with what is most important to you at this point in your life (values). The first step in helping you uncover your own roadmap for a meaningful and successful career is to to first step back and look at who you are, where you have been and what is most important to you. You will complete several subjective career assessment activities related to your past experiences, interests, skills, values and motivations. You will also complete extensive career testing to help you objectively understand your personality, values, interests and motivations.
What’s out there? Career Exploration
During this phase of career coaching you will begin to conduct research on your top career possibilities that you uncovered during Step 1. THE MOST IMPORTANT step you can take before moving forward toward a career is to research it, talk to people in the career and see the career in action. This step is the one most frequently neglected for most of us. Your coach will guide you through this essential research process so that you can gather key information before moving forward in choosing a college major and/or career.
Where are you going? Career Planning
Once you have narrowed your career path down to your top 2-3 choices, it is now time to create a personalized career development plan, addressing your 6 month, 1 year, 2 year, 5 year and 10 year career/life plan. Of course things can change, but this plan can serve as a guide as you begin the process of self/career discovery over the course of your lifetime.
